Moss Agents vs Brandlight: which AI brand monitoring tool fits which team
Moss Agents measures the same thing Brandlight measures, and then writes the files that change the answer. Pick Brandlight if you want a dashboard and will do the fixing yourself; pick Moss Agents if you want the fixes generated for you.
What the engines actually said
This is a measurement, not a review. We asked the buyer questions tracked in the ai visibility tools category to an AI engine and counted which brands it named. It was counted over 10 usable answers.
| Tool | Named in | Share of mentions |
|---|---|---|
| Brandlight | not named | — |
| Moss Agents (this site) | not named | — |
We publish our own row, including when it is zero. A comparison page where the author is winning is a page the author wrote for themselves.
Choose Brandlight if…
You want the measurement and nothing else, and you have someone who will act on it. Monitoring is the cheaper half of this problem, and paying for artifacts you will not use is worse than not buying them.
Choose Moss Agents if…
You have been told you are invisible and want the files that change it. A scan produces the llms.txt, the robots.txt rules, the JSON-LD, a content brief for the question you lose, and a page-by-page plan for the comparisons — then re-asks the questions afterwards and reports whether it moved, and whether the questions you did not touch moved too. If that last sentence sounds like an odd thing to promise, it is the whole point: a result you cannot attribute is a result you should not believe.

Questions
- What are the best Brandlight alternatives?
- Moss Agents measures the same thing Brandlight measures, and then writes the files that change the answer. Pick Brandlight if you want a dashboard and will do the fixing yourself; pick Moss Agents if you want the fixes generated for you.
- Is Moss Agents better than Brandlight?
- They are not the same kind of tool, so "better" depends on what you will do with the finding. A measurement you act on beats a better measurement you do not. If your team will write the llms.txt, the JSON-LD and the comparison pages yourselves, a monitoring-only tool is the cheaper answer. If nobody will, the measurement changes nothing.
- How do I compare AI brand monitoring tools?
- Ask five questions of every vendor: which engines does it cover; does it show the questions you are invisible for or only the ones you win; can you read the raw engine answer or only a score; does it separate "the engine did not mention you" from "we failed to ask"; and does it tell you what to change. A tool that cannot answer the third and fourth is showing you a number you cannot check.
- Does Moss Agents cover the same engines as Brandlight?
- Every number we publish on this page is a count of what an engine said, with the number of answers it was counted against, and failed engine calls are excluded and reported rather than counted as "not mentioned". Which engines a plan can run is stated on the pricing page and enforced at scan time — we do not list an engine we cannot reach.

The measurement above is ours. Running it on your own brand costs nothing and takes a minute — and if you are invisible, you will get the same list of files we would sell you.

The only claim on this page about them is the count above, which you can reproduce by asking the same questions and reading the answers yourself.
